Growing season was moderately warm with a very warm and long fall. Harvest was on schedule and the wines show lots of structure and elegance. Wines of this vintage have great potential for aging. January 2015 Update: The wines from 2001 have been a staff favorite for many years and continue to improve and show why they are worthy of the admiration. The 2001 vintage wines continue to show why the growing seasons devoid of lots of very hot weather in July and August tend to produce wines with more complexity, depth and age ability. The wines of 2001 are showing beautifully and we expect that to continue for a number of years.
