winemaker Notes:

Terra Blanca’s 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Port "Forte" is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon made in the tradition of wines that originate in the Douro Valley, Portugal. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes enjoyed an extended hang time on the vines and were harvested in mid-November from our Red Mountain estate vineyard. This extended hang time concentrated the sugars and flavors resulting in a luxurious port, redolent in the fragrances of cherries, spice and raspberries that serves as the perfect after dinner aperitif. On the palate flavors of cherries and raspberries give way to darker flavors of plum, blackberries and cassis followed by a long sumptuous finish of chocolate and black fruits. Terra Blanca's 2005 Forte is the perfect accompaniment to a tray of bleu cheese or bittersweet truffles.

Grapes for this Riesling Ice Wine were picked frozen on the vine. The result is a rich wine with delicate flavors of lychee, pineapple, apricot and honeyed pear. Crisp acidity balances the residual sugar resulting in a clean finish. Serve with walnut torte, strawberry cheesecake or crème brûlée.
